Alleppey House Boats Season Tariff

As we are approaching the Houseboat Season in Alleppey and Kumarakom houseboat demands also picking up accordingly. In Kerala House Boat Season Travel starts from Oct 1st every year and it goes till end of March.

Apart from that this year salary and allowance to houseboat staffs revised after the recent strike in Kerala house boat industry.

These all lead to a hike in our tariff from October 1st week even though we have decided to keep it minimum to reduce burden on our customers as always we aim to give best rate in Alleppey and Kumarakom to our clients.

This is our new tariff from Oct 1st

Single bedroom house boats (2 pax)

Non A/c : Rs 6,000/- , A/c : Rs 7,000/-

Double bedroom house boats (4 pax)

Non A/c : Rs 8,000/- , A/c : Rs 9,000/-

Three bedroom house boats (6 pax)

Non A/c : Rs 11,000/- , A/c : Rs 12,000/-

Nehru Trophy Boat Race is held on the second Saturday of August every year, in Punnamada Lake in Alleppey, Kerala.

This is one of the most popular boat races in Kerala and attracts a lot of tourists from different parts of India and abroad.

Nehru Trophy 2010

This year Nehru Trophy boat race is on August 14th which is happened to be starting of Onam called Atham. Famous Tripunithura Athachamayam also will be held on the same date.

History of Nehru Trophy

The Nehru Trophy Boat Race was originated in 1952, on the occasion of the visit of the then Prime Minister of India, Pandit. Jawaharlal Nehru to Alapuzha. In the race witnessed by Nehru, ‘Nadubhagom Chundan’ stood first.

Alleppey Travel : Boat House Alleppey

Tourist from all over the world come to Alleppey mainly to enjoy the Boat House Cruise through the beautiful lakes and lagoons in and around Alleppey.

Boat House in Alleppey and Kumarakom or House Boats are large boats which were primarily used for transportation of goods when people of Alleppey used water ways for transportation and commutation.

Today there are around 500 boat house in Alleppey alone. Apart from this there are large number of houseboats in Kumarakom. There are some houseboats in Kollam, Trivandrum and Kochi too.

Tourist from Kerala, other parts of India and abroad enjoy cruising through lakes, river and other water bodies in Alleppey and Kottayam district passing through beautiful green paddy fields, coconut trees etc.
