Munnar is famous tourist destination in Kerala located in Iddukki district, situated in the south Western Ghats of India. Beautiful greenery, mountain scenery and cool and refreshing weather attracts large number of tourists to Munnar from all over the world especially during summer season.
Munnar is at the confluence of three rivers – Madurapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala.
Munnar is also famous for tea estates. There are about 30 tea plantations in and around Munnar including Tata Group’s Kannan Devan Tea Estate.
Situated at an altitude of 1600 m above sea level, Munnar also has the highest peak in South India – Anamudi , which towers over 2695 m. Anamudi is an ideal spot for trekking.

Mattupetty is situated at a height of 1700 m above sea level. Mattupetty Lake and Dam is a beautiful picnic spot with the panoramic view of the tea plantations and the lake. Boating facilities are available in the reservoir.
Eravikulam National Park stands out for the stark beauty of its rolling grasslands and sholas, spread over 97 sq km in the Rajamalai hills.
Anamudi, the highest peak (2695 m) south of the Himalayas, towers over the sanctuary in majestic pride.
Devikulam : This idyllic hill station with its velvet lawns, exotic flora and fauna and the cool mountain air is a rare experience.
Pallivasal : This is the venue of the first Hydro Electric Project in Kerala and a place of immense scenic beauty.
Marayoor : This is the only place in Kerala that has a natural growth of sandalwood trees.
